SDA Church Set to Install New North Buganda Field President

Preparations for the installation of the new President of North Buganda Field (NBF) under the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church have been finalized, with Christians across the region called upon to attend in large numbers.

The installation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at the main SDA church in Luweero.

Pastor George Wilson Ssekaggo is set to be officially installed as the second President of North Buganda Field since its establishment in 2021. He succeeds Pastor David Simwogerere, who was recently elected Bishop for the Central Buganda Conference.

The ceremony will be presided over by the Archbishop of the SDA Church, Pastor Samuel Kajoba.

Pastor Abudallah Moses Lukoda, head of the Luweero District in the SDA Church and a member of the organizing committee, confirmed that preparations are nearly complete.

“We have finalized almost all the preparations, and we are ready to receive Christians from across the field,” Lukoda said. “This is a significant moment for North Buganda Field, and we call upon all believers to come and witness this important occasion.”

North Buganda Field comprises five zones—North Bulemeezi, West Bulemeezi, South Bulemeezi, Central Bulemeezi, and Buluuli—covering districts including Luweero, Nakaseke, and Nakasongola.

Lukoda emphasized the importance of unity and participation from all zones.

“We expect Christians from all five zones to attend in large numbers so that we can give this ceremony the honour it deserves,” he added.

During the event, other key leaders will also be installed, including Executive Treasurer Elder Jonathan Nsibambi and Executive Secretary Pastor Wasswa Joshua.

The outgoing president, Pastor David Simwogerere, will officially bid farewell to the faithful.

Choirs from the Central Uganda Conference, together with various local church zones, are expected to lead praise and worship during the ceremony.

Lukoda further noted that while most of the preparations have been completed, additional support is still welcome.

“At least 95 percent of the preparations are complete, but we still welcome well-wishers who can support us to ensure everything runs smoothly,” he said.

“We sincerely thank everyone who has contributed so far and encourage continued cooperation for the success of this event.”
